 Rough Luxury Records
Founded by Cris is Bliss, Rough Luxury, an oxymoron, is meant to relate the feeling of upward urban mobility, living and re-thinking; like early loft living in formerly manufacturing districts (think TriBeca/Soho in NYC) or driving a hoopty but living in a mansion. Rough Luxury is not about living beyond your means but rather living well within your means, and feeling good about yourself and your surrounding, its that step right before full Luxury. So a minimally furnished apartment on Park Avenue or a fully pimped-out pad in the projects are both signs of Rough Luxury.
Ber'lin Records, named after a party Cris promoted in Harlem, was formed in 1997 to specialize in House/Dance music, while the Rough Luxury brand would concentrate on the increasingly popular Hip Hop, R&B and related genres.
The Ber'lin Club/Party was so named to evoke the spirit that existed during the Harlem Renaissance of the 1920's and in Berlin, Germany during that same time period. It was a time when people of different groups were, for the first time, on a large scale, mixing with each other on a social level (Social Networking in the physical world).
In Harlem, USA and Berlin, Germany of the 1920's, the Jazz Age was in full swing and people were enjoying a new freedom of dancing that was not seen before and would not to be seen again until the Disco Era of the 1970's and early 80's.

Our Creed
Music is special and the people who make it are special. At Rough Luxury/Berlin Records, we believe that the vibrations in music have an effect on the mind, body and soul. The combination of sound waves can release energies that can make us become naturally high. We feel good. We want you to feel good.
From our releases you will get Vocals, Melodies, Harmonies and Orchestration as well as Stripped Down, Hard Shake your Ass Beatz, Hypnotic Thundering Drums and Songs- Real and Bullshit, Meaningful lyrics as well as good for the moment bubble gum. Music is not one dimensional nor are the people who create it and certainly not the people who enjoy it.

DJs/Producers/Artists let us be another option amongst the many that you have. We are always looking for great new music to add to the Rough Luxury (Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae)/Berlin Records.US (House, Dance) roster, having your social networking and/or performance skills together is definitely a plus.
Submitting Material
If you'd like to submit music to us, here are a few easy rules. Send us the best examples of your work. Limit it to 2-3 tracks (MP3) with a brief paragraph about you. We will only respond to submissions we are interested in. Please don't call to inquire about your submission. Submissions are checked/reviewed twice a month.
